PRODUCT INFO

I shoot my floral photographs through a macro lens on 35mm slide film. Slides are scanned on a high resolution film scanner, producing an 85MB file and the image is then digitally printed, depending on the intending use, on photo or fine art paper or canvas

There are three main categories of my images you can purchase from this site:

1.
Images mounted onto: 8"X8" ( 20.3cm X 20.3cm), 10"X10" ( 25.4cm X 25.4cm ) and 12"X12" ( 30.5cm X 30.5cm ), 3.5cm deep canvases.

Photos are printed on 170GSM photo matt heavyweight inkjet paper, glue-mounted onto canvas and hand-varnished with Polyvinyl Acetate emulsion. Emulsion dries to the clear, semi-gloss, flexible glaze with a subtle brushstroke texture, giving permanent protection from harmful environmental effects. If kept out of direct sunlight these images will be with you for years to come.

Although sold as unlimited editions, the number of images that can be printed and finished, from the pool of around 100 slides that I use at the moment, is determined by the fact that every single one of them is printed and finished solely by myself, to your order. It's a time consuming process, it does prolong the delivery times and limits the number of prints produced, but guaranties that you get a product with a touch of character that differs from anything similar, and mass produced, on the market .

2.
50cm X 50cm images printed directly onto canvas and stretched over 20" X 20" ( 50.8cm X 50.8cm ) frame.

Images are printed directly onto matt canvas, and stretched over 3.5cm deep frame. They are printed on the Epson 7600 printer using pigmented, Ultra Chrome, archival inks onto 340GSM, acid free artist canvas. The added protection is achieved by spray-coating the print with UV protective acrylic varnish, giving a longevity to the image, if kept under optimum conditions, of over 100 years.

These are true giclee prints as classified by the Fine Art Trade Guild's standards.

This size and finish is reserved to 100 per any given image. Canvases are signed and numbered.

3.
60cm X 60cm images mounted on 24" X 24" ( 61cm X 61cm ), deep canvas.

Images are printed on 310GSM fine art, 100% cotton rag, acid free photo paper using the same archival inks as for above canvas prints. Print is glue mounted onto canvas and a clear, gloss acrylic gel is then hand/brushed over the image giving it almost identical, textured appearance as the smaller canvas mounted prints. As an added bonus acrylic makes images completely waterproof and provides even better UV and overall protection as the print itself is completely seald out of environment, making it completely resistant to any damage caused by humidity and/or temperature changes. This prints will last in optimum lighting conditions well over 100 years before any noticable colour changes may occur.

These prints fulfill the Fine Art Guild's requirements for fine art giclee printing. Paper used is manufactured by Hahnemuhle, who have been producing the best quality art papers since 1584.

This size and finish is reserved to 100 per any given image. Canvases are signed and numbered.

All size prints have approx. 5mm white border between the image and the edge of canvas.

Due to the difference in the way the colours are represented on the computer screen and the way the printer interprets them there may be a slight difference in the colours of the finished print in comparison with it's image on your monitor.

Those differences are however less noticeable than the ones on the images produced from the same negatives by two different processing labs to which you would usually take them for printing.
